UNSW ASOC vs Macquarie ASSOC Indoor Soccer Competition

The ASOC vs. ASSOC traditional soccer tournament is fast approaching and it’s about time we get our soccer boots on and get prepared. The event will be held at the Thornleigh Action Indoor Sports Centre on Sunday 20th April, 10am to 6pm. In terms of getting there, it is only a 5 minute walk from Normanhurst station, so it should be very convenient. Now in order to get the ball rolling, we should be looking to form teams as soon as possible and have a training session before the big day in week 5.
In regards to the rules, ASOC and ASSOC have agreed to the following:
- We would like to have 8 teams from each side
- A minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 players a team
- There is to be only 5 players on the court at a time
- A maximum of 2 non-ASOC members with only 1 on the court at a time

We encourage all our members to participate in this annual event and would be great if you could start organising a team among your friends.
Even if you can’t organise for a team but are still interested in playing let us know and we’ll put you in a team.
Applications for registering of teams have now open, so once you’ve got your team together please email the registration form to sports@asoc.unsw.edu.au with your team name and the names of the players. Also, there is a registration fee of $5 per ASOC member which can be given to the marketing officers once registered.
There are also some fantastic prizes, with the winning team all receiving medals and $150, also runner-up will receive $70.
All in all it should be a great, fun filled day; there will be a free barbeque lunch and many great performances on the court. So please keep the day free and hope to see you all there.
